You may attend only ONE sport training session during the Spring Games Expo on Feb. 4, 2012.

Special Olympics Texas - Central Texas Area will host the Tennis Coaches Training on February 4, 2012 as part of the Spring Games Coaches Training Expo. If you are over the age of 15 and interested in sharing your talents with an athlete with intellectual disabilities, then we are looking for you! There is no cost to be trained and no experience is necessary.

NEW COACHES THAT ATTEND THIS TRAINING  WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE SIGNED UP FOR THE SPORTS INFORMATION GUIDE (S.I.G.) TRAINING ON FEBRUARY 15, 2012, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  ** THIS IS REQUIRED FOR OFFICIAL CERTIFICATION. ** 


 1.)  The theory part teaches you about the SOTX Information Guide (SIG) and is only taken once and is required for NEW coaches

2.) The clinical part teaches you about the specific sport and is taken whenever someone wants to become certified to coach that sport. 

A practicum of 10 hours is required after the coaches training in order for certification to be complete.

The mission of Special Olympics Texas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
